Some ideas for fall getaways in Ontario – with maps!

Late summer and autumn are wonderful times to travel. Whether it’s enjoying parks, trails, and attractions in your own community, or road trips to see the beautiful fall colours, there’s something for everyone. And who doesn’t love sweater weather?

Here are some ideas for fall getaways, and check out the maps on each site!

Visit a winery

Essex and Pelee Island Coast have a great map on their website with details of all the wineries in the region. Visit Explore EPIC Wine Country for more details, and plan a wine-tasting tour!

Go for a hike

Explore the Trans Canada Trail map! Multiple trails and routes run through southern Ontario, including many rail trails and the Waterfront Trail along Lake Ontario.

See fall colours

Keep an eye on the fall colour report at Ontario Parks. Their interactive map will show leaf colour for individual parks, so you can plan a day trip to enjoy the colours!

Explore garden trails

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington have downloadable maps for several of their trails, and they offer a virtual guided fall hike of the Anishinaabe Waadiziwin Trail at the Arboretum
