Winter festivals, polar patios, and more…

It may be March, but winter is hanging on for a while yet. This year saw the introduction of winter patios in Waterloo Region, from picnic tables to heated domes. Explore Waterloo Region shared a Google Map of businesses with winter patios, and they are popular!

Northwest Ontario Tourism uses has a winter interactive map to show locations of outdoor activities to help people keep active and enjoy the season.

And it’s almost maple syrup season, so why not explore the Muskoka Maple Trail! Their Google Map features restaurants and food shops that include maple syrup in their recipes. It also shows accommodations, so you can stay and take advantage of Ontario’s Staycation Tax Credit to promote Ontario tourism.

Speaking of food, Destination Ontario has a list of 20 Foodie Trails and Tours, most of which have interactive Google Maps on their sites with details of all the stops along the way.

Oxford County has a Cheese Trail with multiple Google Routes and downloadable itineraries on their website. I didn’t know about it until I found their brochure in the Mountainoak Cheese shop. Which reminds me, it’s time for another trip there!
